Dear Parishioners: The fund raiser honoring Mr. Bill Chriss and his family was a success. Once again, Bill and family, our Church appreciates your gift. May many blessings follow you in your new environment. The primary co-ordinators for the luncheon were Mrs. Rita Lontos and Dr. Nicholas Hallick. Your efforts, with those who assisted, were greatly appreciated. Now there is a need for working together in order to generate the success we need for our annual Greek Festival. We most mobilize now. The Festival begins the second weekend of October. There is so much that needs to be accomplished: baking must start now or earlier; letter writing to business friends to solicit door prizes and raffles prizes; advertizing; dance practices; food preparations; sprucing our Spiritual Home for the Church tours; preparing the gift shop for the bazaar vendors; and so much more. Make your commitment now. The Council will announce the Festival Chairman soon. He will have full control and authority from the Council for the operation ofthe Festival. The Council has established guidelines for accountability and statisical purposes of inventory, ticket and food sales, control of money pick-ups~ and storage and deposits. Even a ticket book for the purchase of items is under consideration We do conduct other business as well. Have you visited our website lately? The Mays, Plomaritys and others are devoting time to keep an updated website. Parish activities are being photographed, posted and rotated on a regular basis. Your comments are welcomed. The monthly and weekly bulletins are currently maintained on the website. Let us know which do you prefer - do you want to continue receiving the mailing of the monthly bulletin, or do you prefer to down-load the monthly bulletin from your commuter? There have been renewals of all insurances. This year, for the first time, we had to obtain separate windstorm insurance at a very high premium. Also, the Church's "service announcement" board in front of the church has been installed and completed.. Thank you Stacy Bisbikos-Bishop (a former parishioner) for your donation to cover the cost of constructing the sign and George and Peggy Paraskevas for donating the lettering and glass cover for the sign. Work for the Festival has begun. The pastry bakers will start looking for volunteers. Get involved. Use the skills you have been blessed with for the success of our Greek Festival. See you at our Spiritual Home on Sunday. Sincerely, Horacio Ortiz |
