Dear Members and Friends,

Another summer vacation has quickly flown by! I look forward to reuniting with all of the travelers as they return home. I was a delegate to the 2006 Biennial Philoptochos Convention in Nashville, Texas. I would like to thank the ladies of our Philoptochos chapter for making it possible for me to attend.

The conference was once again very inspirational! I would like to share the newest information at our first meeting. It was wonderful to hear of all the positive endeavors that National Philoptochos is undertaking and to hear from the recipients of past projects.

I am especially proud of our Corpus Christi chapter for attaining a certificate for 100% participation in all of our commitments. We also received an outreach award for our sponsorship of a local senior citizen in the Meals on Wheels program.

Our first meeting is planned for the afternoon of Saturday, September 30. Tracy Andreadis has very generously offered to host the meeting so that we can view the DVD presented at the Clergy-Laity Congress, entitled “Celebrating 75 Years of Philanthropy.” I hope all of our members and friends will be able to attend.
