C. GUS ADAMS C. Gus Adams, 75, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 after a long illness. He was a businessman who, over the years, owned and operated many businesses including the Center Grill and Artistic Flowers in both Corpus Christi and Portland. In addition he was a well known antique dealer. After his death of his father, Mr. Adams took over the care of his mother, Mrs. Elsie Adams, and the upbringing of his younger brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Elsie Adams; his brothers, James Adams, Bill Adams and Dan Bonich; his sister, Mrs. Marian Alexander; and his nephew Ted Rogers. He is survived by his two sisters, Georgia Davis and Paulette Wilson, his three brothers , Nick Adams, Michael Bonich and Tom Morrison and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Mr. Adams was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and was very devoted to his church. He served on the Parish Council for many years in several different capacities. He held the position of Parish Council President from 1975 thru 1977, and again in 1989. He was also very involved with the annual Greek Festivals and various luncheons over the years. In addition Gus was a staunch supporter of the ladies organization, the Delphi Club, helping tirelessly with their annual bake sales. On Thursday, January 25th, a Trisagion Service was held at Maxwell P. Dunn Funeral Home and Funeral Services were held on Friday, January 26, 2007 at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church with Father Stelios Sitaras officiating. The family is very grateful for the kindness, generosity and friendship of his many friends. May his memory be eternal! |
