COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS PARTY:

On Sunday, December 17, 2006, the Parish held its annual Christmas party, hosted by the Parish Council, the Delphi Club and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all. We would like to thank Nick Sissamis for donating and cooking all the food at the Church for the Ladies Philoptochos Society. It was very thoughtful of Mr. Sissamis and we thank him for his generosity. The desserts, pastries and punch were provided by the Delphi Club and we thank them very much.

During the party, the children of the Catechism School exchanged gifts under the coordination of Miss Olga Plomarity. Special thanks go to Bill and Carol Mays for providing toy-filled Christmas stockings for all the children.

PARISH COUNCIL ELECTIONS:

On Sunday, December 17, 2006, elections for the 2007 Parish Council were held. Even though there were more openings only two nominations were received. The two candidates elected were : Andrew Christos of Victoria, Texas and Miss Olga Plomarity. As soon as the election results are ratified by His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah, the entire 2007 Parish Council members will take their oath of office and assume their duties on the Parish Council. Congratulations!

VISITING SEMINARIAN:

During the Christmas holidays our church was honored to have seminarian George Livaditis here in Corpus Christi visiting his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Livaditis. George is attending Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, Massachusetts. We would like to thank George for assisting Father Stelios in the Altar during the holidays.

ARTOCLASIA SERVICES:

On December 6^th, Mrs. Penelope Livaditis held an Artoclasia Service for the health of her family.

HOME BLESSINGS:

Father Stelios will begin blessing homes after Epiphany on January 7^th. If you would like to have your home blessed, fill our the form in this bulletin and give it to a Parish Council member or call Father Stelios to arrange for an appointment.

GRADUATION:

On Saturday, December 16, 2006, Jack Younger of Houston, Texas graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi, with a degree in Business Administration. Jack has been the Catechism School teacher for the high school students. Congratulations!

HOSPITALIZED:

C. Gus Adams was hospitalized several time during the month of December. Let’s keep him in our prayers.

CHURCH CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS:

We wish to thank Mrs. Thea Aldridge for decorating the Church for the Christmas holidays. We also wish to thank those parishioners who contributed toward the cost of the beautiful poinsettia plants. We appreciate their thoughtfulness and generosity.

2007 CHURCH CALENDARS:

We wish to express our thanks to Mr. & Mrs Andrew Christos of Victoria, Texas, for donating the 2007 Church calendars in memory of Patsy and Gregory Kandis, who donated the calendars for many years before they fell asleep in the Lord. Thank you.

CONDOLENCES;

On Sunday, November 26, 2006, the Reverend Nicholas M. Sitaras fell asleep in the Lord in North Carolina after a long illness. He was the father of our Priest, Father Stelios Sitaras. May his memory be eternal!

On December 8, 2006, Nick A. Paloukos, Jr. (46) fell asleep in he Lord

n Salt Lake City, Utah following a heart attack. Mr. Paloukos was the son of Mr. Nick Paloukos, Sr. and stepson of Mrs. Eleni Paloukos of Salt Lake City, who are members of our local parish.. Funeral services were held on December 12^th. In Salt Lake City. May his memory be eternal!

MEMORIAL AND TRISAGION SERVICES:

On Sunday, December 17, 2006, a six month memorial services was held for Silvia Lucica Iftimescu, mother of Mrs. Christina Fratila. May her memory be eternal!

On Sunday, December 17, 2006, a two-year Trisagion Service was held for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Irini Livaditis, mother of Mr. Michael Livaditis and Mrs. Anastasia Hartofilax. May her memory be eternal!

On Sunday, December 17, 2006, a eight-year Trisagion Service was held for the repose of the soul of Mr. Pavlos Pahos, husband of Mrs. Anastasia Pahos and grandfather of Stacy Hartofilax, Stacy Loukanaris, Kosta Livaditis and Alexia Maragakis. May his memory be eternal!

The Coffee or Fellowship Hour provides us the opportunity to meet and visit with our parishioners and visiting guests. For this reason, we are asking parishioners to sign their name on the poster downstairs in the Church Hall and volunteer to host the coffee hour.
